Pet memories

How to make a pet memory book.

You do not need every photo or a perfect plan. A pet memory book can begin with one picture and one thing you never want to forget.

Start with one ordinary day.

Before choosing a format, choose a moment. Maybe it is the walk that took twice as long because every leaf needed investigating. Maybe it is the afternoon they fell asleep beside you.

Put one photo next to a few sentences about that day. You have already made the first page. A small beginning is easier to return to than an empty album waiting for a whole life story.

Where were we? What were they doing? What would this picture never tell someone on its own?

Choose a format you will actually use.

A paper album makes room for handwriting and small keepsakes. A digital folder or notes document is easy to add to when you find another photo. A digital collection can also keep short videos close to the written memories.

You can begin digitally and print selected pages later. There is no need to buy a particular product, use a template, or decide the final order before you start.

Keep the details between the milestones.

Birthdays and first days matter, but the everyday details often make a collection feel most like your pet. Try a few of these page ideas:

  • Their nicknames, including the ones that made no sense to anyone else.
  • The places they always chose to sleep, sit, or watch the world.
  • A favorite toy, a familiar sound, or a very specific food preference.
  • A photo that is technically terrible but means everything to you.
  • A small story from someone else who knew them.
  • A short video and a note about the sound or movement it captures.

Let the order follow your memories.

Chronological order is one option, not a requirement. You could group pages by favorite places, family members, seasons, or the routines you shared. Leave a few spaces for details that come back later.

If you are making the book after your pet has died, you do not need to finish it in one sitting. You can put it away, ask someone to help choose photos, or keep one page separate until you want to return to it.

Keep a copy of what matters.

If you are working digitally, keep the original photos and videos somewhere you control and make a separate backup. An album, app, or printed book does not need to be the only home for your originals.

You can use Besideo Moments to bring photos, short videos, and notes together around a pet profile. It is a digital collection inside the app, not a book-printing service. A notebook or a simple folder is just as valid a place to begin.
